This is a Character Event: where authors take it easy and the characters come out to play.
From 12 – 1 p.m. EDT Light will be here. You can ask him whatever you like, chat and banter, listen to his music or play his games…blinding.
In honour of Light’s escape into the real world – here’s Light’s CharacterProfile:
Light – the British Rocker Blood Lifer – is on a redemptive journey. In Blood Shackles he’s enslaved by a secret human Blood Club. The dark conspiracy behind it, which threatens the world? You’ll have the read the series to find out!
As a slave, Light discovers something he hasn’t experienced for 150 years – love of a family. Blood Shackles is about hope. How love of family – and the drive to save them – can set you free.
A hidden paranormal London lies beneath our own…
Light: A rebel Blood Lifer with a photographic memory. And a Triton motorbike. He’s a British James Dean: rough leather motorcycle jacket, decorated with a worn gold Ace of Spades, collar firmly turned up, over a black t-shirt, jeans and tall motorcycle boots, topped by a light brown pompadour, tamed with Brylcreem. He tried to conforming once: didn’t fit.
When and where elected into Blood Life? Victorian London.
Human name? Thomas Blickle
Bloodline? Plantagenet. Powerful, ancient, Magnificoe. And hunted.
Favourite drinks? Coffee – black, two sugars. Guinness.
Favourite motorbike? Triton. ‘A sodding scarlet slash of beauty. 650cc Triumph twin-cylinder engine in a Norton ‘slimline’ Featherbed frame – and my bloody god.’
Favourite possession? His leather jacket. For the last 150 years, Light has always owned a ‘blinding coat’.
Favourite phrase? ‘Bollocks vampire myth…’
Who is Ruby? A sexy but savage Elizabethan Blood Lifer in crimson silk. ‘Ruby. My red-haired devil, Author, muse, liberator, guide: my gorgeous nightmare.’
Who is Kathy? A seductive singer, with blue eyes and long black curls. But she’s also human. When the two worlds collide, it could mean the end. For both species. ‘You looked like some little Moon Girl, shimmering in silver. I would’ve blasted into space with you in a bleeding heartbeat. ’
Who is Grayse? Master’s daughter: she chooses Light, as if he’s a puppy in a pet store. Commanding and business-like, Grayse is tall with ‘steely grey peepers’. Can a mistress truly love her slave? And can Light love her, when his family are still in chains? ‘At that moment, none of it meant anything. Slave or Mistress. First Lifer or Blood. It never does when skin meets skin. It was just Light and Grayse.’
Light looks forward to having a chinwag with you on the 15th at the Ides of March…

I’ll post with sneak peeks behind the upcoming Rebel Vampires Collection.
And here’s your first taste: the new banner for my website. Because ‘you can’t flay a rebel’s Soul.’ (Blood Shackles)
What better way to start the New Year than with a serious Rebel Vampires giveaway?
9 authors – myself included, of course – have come together to sponsor a $225 Amazon Gift Card to the winner. The giveaway runs this week. Click here to enter.
And what better way to kick off 2017? Blood Shackles has already broken into two Bestsellerlists…and swaggered its way next to one my favourite authors: Anne Rice.
Christmas is coming…and who wouldn’t want a vampire under the mistletoe..?
Wait, you wouldn’t?Oh, the bitey thing? Light’s redeemed – off the crimson – so imagine him…Yeah, that’s better.
Assuming the eternal lovers of night aren’t getting snack happy on your neck, which vampire would you like to cozy up to this Christmas? OK then – what vampire series do you want to escape into?
I ran a Christmas contest to discoveryour favourite vampire…and it turned out Light in RebelVampires was high up on your list to appear tied up pretty in a bow under the Christmas tree.
Here are the other vampires who rock your world:
Amanda Morgan: ‘Tage in the Frenzy series.’
Nicole Nixon: ‘LOVE Theo (David) and Kate (Selene) from the Underworldseries. I love the dark brooding semi snark nature.’
And the winner? Mary Brannian
‘Jean-Claude. Tall, dark, handsome, and he seems the perfect blend of man and “monster”.’
Man v Monster – that battle of the demon v humanity. Light struggles with it in Rebel Vampires. It’s at the heart of a vampire anti-hero.
Stephanie L Herman: ‘Light is my favorite… He’s strong, compassionate and sexy. What’s not to love? He fights for those he loves.’
There’s magic in a name. The giving of it. Knowing of it. Taking it from someone.
If you could be rechristened into a glorious dark new world, what name would you choose?
‘We have the name they wetted us with when we wailed all bloody from the womb but we also get the one we select, when the blood elects us from the ranks into something else. Me? I chose Light…it wove me to the best of my First Life and everything I never wanted to lose.’ (Blood Dragons)
In Rebel Vampires, which has been compared by both readers and critics to ‘Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles’, every Blood Lifer name has a story behind it: Light, Ruby, Alessandro and Hartford…

In another blinding week of touring, here’s Five of the Best Guest Posts and Interviews:
Inside the Mind of a Slave: This Is No Bridget Jones’s Diary – Long and Short Reviews. If you knew your private thoughts were being read by your captor, how would it change what you wrote? And who can face the flayed truth without flinching?
If You Want To Cook and Eat Like a Vampire – Books Chatter. Blood Lifers nosh human food. Light? He loves Italian. The pics are so gorgeous, you’ll be licking the screen.
My Scariest Moment, Best Ever Fan Letter and Sneak Peek at Blood Renegades – My interview with The Pen Muse.
Creating an Anti-hero – Fabulous and Brunette. Dark, complex, struggling on an individual journey of redemption..? You may have an anti-hero on your hands.
Oi, hang on a tick, you’ve missed one…
And that would be An Interview With a Vampire…and His Name Is Light – Archaeolibrarian. Light frees himself from my shackles (couldn’t resist), and gets his own interview. Only seems fair…
With Blood Dragons on the Dark Fantasy Amazon Best Seller List and both Blood Dragons AND Blood Shackles booting their way onto Vampire SuspenseBest Sellers this last week has been… exciting.
All right..understatement. If I was Light right now? I’d be on a wild whirlwind of joyous crimson carnage. Me? I settled in to write the third book – Blood Renegades. Any excuse to listen to its music…seriously, you’re going to love it.
Whilst I’ve been peeking in on the Lists and sauntering into events (yeah, there is an online saunter), still being as much a fantasy fanatic as ever, here’s Three Fantasy Writers Who Make You Think:
C. J. Rutherford: Souls of the Never. YA fantasy/science fiction as it should be. Alternate realities? Time travel? Dragons? All present and correct, sir.
John G. Hartness:Heaven Help Us. Urban fantasy just how I like it – dark – with a side order of immortal demon hunter, werewolves and Homeland Security.
Patty Jansen: Icefire Trilogy. Did I say I liked dark? This is gritty, shocking and don’t take the warnings lightly… But the world building? Class act.
It’s a dangerous game to love your slave… When your whole species is enslaved – and it’s the humans who are acting like the monsters – how far would you go to free your family? Click here to buy Blood Shackles today.
In a divided paranormal London, one bad boy vampire’s dangerous hidden love could bring about the end of the world – unless he can play the role of hero and save both species – and maybe even himself.
