The comedy and music legends in the podcasting world that are The Pod Effect have featured REBEL VAMPIRES in their latest video: a hilarious goth Vampire Special.
Pod Effect are mates from way back with the lead singer and bass guitarist Tim Black from the band Off the Realm.
Off the Realm wrote Forevermore – the stunningly good rock anthem – inspired by my vampire Light. The dark poetry of the lyrics, combine with hardcore bass guitar and serious hook… When I say I can’t get this out of my head when I type, ‘condemned to remember…’ Yeah, still there.
A new special edition Euromix has been released by Dark A.C.E. Records of Rebel Vampires‘ Theme Song.
This is a goth rock and London punk explosion by band Off the Realm: Forevermore.
Described by listeners as: ‘gothic sound with an urban, mechanical edge and dark, emotional lyrics that grab you and don’t let go. It’s beautiful in a goose bumps way. This is my new favorite band. Highly recommend. It’s rare to fall in love with a band the first time you hear their music.’ 5*
The video contains all the dark and glory of the novels: Light’s journey through World War One, 1960s London and the side the tourists never see. It’s beautiful and frightening all at once: a love song for London, yet holds the pain of a humanity lost and fought for.
In lightning flashes – or the light shows of the First World War (or the headlights of Light’s motorcycle) – the lyrics blind you. Each one speaks to the heart of Light: ‘Your redemption, your slave/ I submit to you/But never these laws of man…’
Plus there’s one shot of me…except starring in red as Ruby – Light’s Author and the ‘gemstone’ of the song.
As a music fanatic, it was going to take one blinding band and one awesome song to get my blessing. Somewhere between Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Nothing But Thieves..? Yeah, Offthe Realm is my new favourite band too.
Fantasy Rebel announces the new book trailer for Blood Dragons: escape into a supernatural world of love, revenge and redemption…
5* Highly recommended: ‘For anyone who is just looking for something a bit different, a bit edgy, something that will amuse you, frighten you and take you on one hell of a journey into love, death, humanity, and monsters’ – Underground Book Reviews
The second book in the series – Blood Shacklesis out now:
“When Light is captured, he refuses to lose himself, despite how his captors try to break his spirit. Being sold to Grayse is the ticket he needs out of his cell, even though her father owns the company that enslaves him… Blood Shackles is brutally honest, tragic, triumphant, addictive and somehow hopeful… Johns succeeded in creating a world, characters, and a story that pulled me in until I had to finish reading it… This is a novel everyone should read, along with Blood Dragons” – Readers’ Favorite 5*
It’s a dangerous game to love your slave. When your whole species is enslaved – and it’s the humans who are acting like the monsters – how far would you go to free your family?
Tonight at 7pm GMT I’m appearing on the Cindy Hurn Show on W4CY Radio. Click here to listen in.
We’ll be discussing creativity: what it means, who has it, how to get it and how not to lose it. Also – and I reckon this is most important of all – how to be authentic. Maybe this is the root of all creativity. All great writing. It works for me.
On Thursday I appeared on BBC Radio Oxford. I featured on Kat Orman’s show, discussing Blood Dragons: memory, identity and vampires. This is an in depth interview – an investigative look at the ‘story behind the story’. Why I chose to write Blood Dragons. It has moved some readers to contact me. I hope it moves many more. Click here for the full interview.
On 19th September 3pm EST and 8pm GMT I will be appearing on the very cool DouglasColeman Show. Or that could be with the very cool Douglas Coleman. Either way, we’ll be chatting about the 1960’s, rock ‘n’ roll and why vampires can be for adults. Listen in here. This will be one fun interview.
Hi, this is my first post and it’s great to have a blog now. I’m looking forward to talking to and getting to know you. I’m deep in writing mode. Also preparing for the release of my debut novel – Rebel Vampires Volume 1: Blood Dragons in August.
