WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

REBEL ANGELS is now a complete five book series. I’m currently working on a new series REBEL LEGENDS, which is a series of novellas. Each one is an exclusive spin off story from my main series! The first one releases on the 20th June and is a story from the REBEL VAMPIRES world.

WILL FANTASY REBEL BE RELEASING ANY NEW SERIES?

YES! REBEL ANGELS is out now as complete series. I’m currently working on both a werewolf and an academy series.

WHY A REBEL?

When I watch movies or TV, or go to the theatre, I find myself rooting for the wrong person. The one you’re meant to boo…like Loki or Spike. I see their flaws. The motivations for why they’ve fallen. I love it when (often TV shows), are complex enough to show people as individual. Neither good nor bad. When they don’t stick everyone in a box.

I love people who are brave enough to stand up for who they are. Or what they believe. It’s even better when they stand up for someone else. I think most people feel like the outsider, at some point in their life. So, each of my books have that rebel spirit in them.

It’s why I love anti-heroes!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BAND?

Like Light in Rebel Vampires, I’m a music fanatic. I write to music and I see the scenes to a soundtrack. If the characters are listening to a song, then I was listening to it on loop as I wrote!

I have a HUGE collection of music. Three subjects I’ll never grow tired of…books, music, and fantasy. So a music fanatic vampire..? Perfect!

If I was forced to choose one song only..? “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.

WHEN DID YOU START WRITING?

I don’t remember a time when I didn’t write! I announced when I was four that I was going to be a writer. I made a book out of A4 sheets at school when I was five. I wrote my first attempt at a novel when I was eight. If I could only ever scribble my writing on the back of brown paper bags or cardboard coasters for the rest of my life – I’d be doing that.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE BEST ABOUT WRITING?

The ability to lose yourself. To entirely inhabit the head, heart, and world of someone else. To love like they do. To feel, as they do. It’s like the escape of reading but magnified a thousand times. It’s like being able to live a hundred or more reincarnated lives. Magical.

Or like being a vampire…
