“…Set in a precarious world where vampires are both predator and prey, Blood Dragons deftly blends elements of paranormal thriller and passionate romance. Blood Dragons is a character-driven, sizzling-hot saga for vampire literature connoisseurs to sink their teeth into!” – Midwest Book Review
5* “When Light is captured, he refuses to lose himself, despite how his captors try to break his spirit and force him into submission. Being sold to Grayse is the ticket he needs out of his cell, even though her father owns the company that enslaves him… Blood Shackles is brutally honest, tragic, triumphant, addictive and somehow hopeful… Johns succeeded in creating a world, characters, and a story that pulled me in until I had to finish reading it… This is a novel everyone should read, along with Blood Dragons” – Readers’ Favorite
5* “A unique book…Quirky, amusing, frightening and dark, Rebel Vampires, Volume One offers a brilliant story, with plenty of twists and turns…For anyone who is just looking for something a bit different, a bit edgy, something that will amuse you, frighten you and take you on one hell of a journey into love, death, humanity, and monsters, then I highly recommend this book” – Underground Book Reviews

ROSEMARY A JOHNS wrote her first fantasy novel at the age of ten, when she discovered the weird worlds inside her head were more exciting than double swimming. Since then she’s studied history at Oxford University, run a theatre company (her critically acclaimed plays have been described as ‘uncomfortable, unsettling and uneasily true to life’) and worked with disability charities. When Rosemary’s not falling in love with the rebels fighting their way onto the page, she heads the Oxford writing group Dreaming Spires. She can also be found listening to Nirvana. At full volume. Or not found at all. When she’s dived into her secret world again.
Rosemary A Johns grew up in Radley, a village in Oxfordshire. She has a passion for history – with a BA and Mst from Oxford University – and the theatre. Her plays have been performed at various theatres (including the Burton Taylor).
‘The play is a startlingly original look at the patterns of human relations: at friendship, love and violence… It’s…frighteningly effective: claustrophobic and tense. Yet it’s not without touches of humour, as the prisoners move between disbelief and rebellion… Random 12 is an excellent psychological thriller – uncomfortable, unsettling, and uneasily true to life. An unmissable chance to see new talent at work.’ – Felicity James, Daily Info.
Breaking Ice was selected by the Royal Court Theatre and the BBC for the OUDS New Writing Initiative.
Rosemary A Johns heads the Dreaming Spires Group in Oxford: a ragtag collection of novelists, poets and artists, who realised they didn’t have the skills to become superheroes and so instead create the weird worlds inside their heads.
When she’s not falling in love with the rebels fighting their way onto the page, Rosemary’s giving readings or talks. She most recently appeared at Oxford’s ‘Women in Dark Fiction Event’ with Helen Marshall and Nico Reznick.
Rosemary A John’s short stories have appeared in a number of short story anthologies by Horrified Press, Thirteen O’clock Press or Silent Fray (as R. A. Johns).
Rosemary A Johns also runs the Oxfordshire branch of the global Feed my Reads.
